Adel Dimian

•  Associate Professor of Management Practice in the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU)
•  19 years with 3M in varied and increasing responsibilities in technical and business management worldwide
•  Scientist with 9 patents for novel chemistry solutions
•  Education - BS, MS and PhD degrees in chemistry and an MBA with honours from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota

Benedict Koh

  • Practice Associate Professor of Finance at the Singapore Management University.
  • Prior to joining SMU, Dr Koh was Vice Dean and Associate Professor of Finance and Accounting at the NUS Business School.
  • He was Associate Editor of the Asia Pacific Journal of Finance and Asia Pacific Journal of Management.
  • His book on Personal Financial Planning, published by Prentice Hall, was listed as one of the top 5 best sellers in the non-fiction category.
  • His latest book entitled Managing Your Money was recently published by McGraw Hill in 2004.

Braema Mathi

•  Volunteer, journalist, researcher and former Nominated Member of Parliament.
•  Founded Transient Workers Count Too, a migrant advocacy group
•  Vice-President of Action for Aids and establishing MARUAH, also known as the Singapore Working Group for ASEAN Human Rights Mechanism
•  Regional President (South East Asia and Pacific Rim ) of the International Council of Social Welfare.

 

Donald L. Ferrin

•  Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources, SMU
•  Conferred Lee Kuan Yew Fellowship for Research Excellence at SMU in 2009
•  Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School of Management)
•  7 years as Senior Consultant with Deloitte Haskins + Sells, Los Angeles, and Audit and Technical Manager with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Hong Kong
•  Member of the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of International Business, Journal of Management, and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Management

Eugene Tan

•  Assistant Professor of Law - School of Law, SMU, specialising in ethics and social responsibility, constitutional and administrative law.
•  Part of taskforce that drafted the ‘Principles for Responsible Business Education,' under the auspices of the UN Global Compact, 2007.
•  Awarded the Ministry of Environment's Green Leaf Award (Youth) in 2004 for contributions as Environment Commissioner for Singapore Scout Association
•  Serves on Tan Kah Kee Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship Selection Committee, the Board of Governors at the Catholic Welfare Services, and the National ISO 26000 Mirror Working Group on Social Responsibility at SPRING Singapore

Martin Tan

•  Executive Director, Halogen Foundation Singapore
•  Owner & Director, Tea Cosy, European Cuisine Restaurant
•  Member of the Leadership Team for Halogen Foundation International, a not-for-profit organization committed to inspire and influence a generation of young people to lead themselves and others
•  Awarded The Outstanding Young Person Award 2007 by Junior Chamber International
•  Serves as the Honorary Secretary of the National Family Council .

Nancy Frohman

•  General manager of a non-profit healthcare foundation overseeing governance and policy formation, asset allocation and fund administration
•  10 years of experience in providing consulting on non-profit governance, strategy formulation and partnership strategies
•  Consultant on Corporate Social Responsibility and Governance.
•  Board Member, Exco Member on several community and non profit organizations.
•  Served as Executive Committee member and Advisor on non-profit governance at UNIFEM Singapore.

Patsian Low

•  Founder/Partner, Serenity Consulting LLP focusing on incubation and consulting services of social enterprises and other socially-contributive initiatives
•  One of the pioneers of such services in this region with strong fundamentals in business models
•  14 years of financial sector experience in U.S., Hong Kong and Singapore in product and top management roles in global institutions like Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and State Street
•  Mentor/trainer for the UNITAR Afghan Fellowship Programme, actively involved in Afghanistan 's redevelopment.
•  Active member of Singapore Compact.

Kok Ee Lan

  • Senior Vice President, Regional Human Resources at TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific Pte Ltd.
  • She has more than 23 years of both corporate HR and consulting experience in global companies, including Arthur Andersen, PricewaterhouseCoopers & NCS
  • Adjunct Professor in NTU (2005, 2009/10-current) and SMU (2006 & 2007), lecturing on Performance Management and Measurement, Reward & Compensation, Personnel Selection and Training & Development.   
  • Presently, she is the Council Advisor of The cHRysalis Society and also a member of the Selection Panel for the Singapore President's Award for Nurses.

Tan Chee Koon

• Board Member & Ex-CEO of the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC) from 2000 to Aug 2008. Focused on collaborative arrangements with key stakeholders in the public, private and non-profit sectors
• Board Member on Asia-Pacific Philanthropy Consortium; Focus on the
Family (Singapore); Advisory Committee of World Vision Singapore and Charity (Social Service) Sub-Committee of the Tote Board
• Chair, Organising Committee of the World Volunteer Conference which Singapore will be hosting in Jan 2011 in conjunction with International Association for Volunteer Efforts (IAVE)

Tan Seng Choon

•  Ernst & Young LLP, Partner, Assurance and Advisory Business Services
•  18 years of audit experience in England and Singapore
•  Audited diversified range of industries in multinational, public and private companies and statutory boards
•  Managed several public issues on the main boards of the Singapore Exchange and carried out due diligence reviews and audit investigations.


Thomas Menkhoff

•  Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Practice, SMU.
•  Board Member of SMU’s Lien Centre for Social Innovation
• Thought and practice leader in the field of knowledge governance and management in Asia
• Served as consultant to the Government of Singapore, German Agency of Technical Cooperation, Government of Malaysia, Commonwealth secretariat, Arthur D Little, Asia Productivity Organisation, Asian Development Bank, World Bank etc
• Member of the editorial review and advisory boards of the International Journal of Knowledge Management and International Journal of Applied Knowledge Management

Usha Menon

•  Executive Chairman, Management Centre Asia, one of few consultancies working exclusively on non-profit management, leadership and fundraising in Asia.
•  21 years experience in the non-profit sector having held leadership positions at national and international organizations
•  Considered an international authority on non-profit leadership and fundraising
•  Lectured and trained in 25 countries on non-profit insights, emerging market fundraising experience, global leadership exposure and cross-cultural expertise.

Dr Wilson Chew

•  CEO, and Founder of Strategicom, a branding consultancy
•  Recently awarded a Doctorate in Business Administration
•  Business Strategist with 10 years experience in Corporate Strategy, Brand Positioning and Marketing Strategy
•  Singled out as a thought leader in Brand Strategy by The Edge Weekly and a regular guest on Positive Business Minutes and ChannelNewsAsia
