About the Session

"Values in Action" is a Ministry of Education programmes which puts greater emphasis in schools on the inculcation of values to create a holistic education system for Singapore children. And SoCh in Action has been instrumental in doing that since 2010 in Singapore; through an international programme called Design for Change. The innovative program encourages children to design and lead the change in their community for a better future.

This session features Ashoka Fellow Kiran Bir Sethi, who is the inspiration behind this international movement. Kiran will share her experience and ideas on creative and innovative education, demonstrating how her school uses field based education to emphasize on real world learning. The questions she asks are, "What is the future of education?" or "What is the education for the future"?

Our sharing sessions with people shapes the education system in Singapore will provide a mind opening experience to understand how Kiran incorporates design thinking process in education.   Watch her inspiring TED talk : Kiran teaches kids to take charge
